Multilinguism and cultural diversity in Algeria, and their impact of the linguistic and cognitive acquisition within the Algerian students

Abstract
The article addresses the problems experienced by Algeria's educational system, which were behind the inability of the education sector in all its cycles to provide high-level and world-quality training. It treats also multilingualism in Algeria and the existing discontent about the language of teaching between French speaking elite and the Arabic speakers. The Francophone movement sometimes proposes the French language and in other times the local dialect as an alternative to teaching in Arabic, by demonstrating several justifications, while the Arab movement has quick to defended the language of the Koran, refuting all the justifications of the first movement, refuting the notion that French is currently the language of science compared to the world's most widely spoken language like English . The study aims at illustrating the situation of Algeria's formative system, the various suffering of its basic components and the difficulties that hinders the promotion of this sector. It also clarifies the role of the language in general in the formative process and the language that will improve the level of education in the country. In this regard, the researcher relied on field methods for data collection and the experimental and comparative methodology for its analysis. One of the most important findings is the need for the State to take special care of this sector from the material side and to protect it from ideological conflicts across different communities of the society.
