Toulmin Theory and Model of Argument Analysis he story of Mahfouz al-Naqqash and al-Jahiz as an example

Abstract

This research paper deals with Toulmin theory of explaining the argumentative structure of the speech, through a model he presented to explain how the argument was constructed, and the model translated from French to Arabic in line with Arabic verbal terms. We took a story from Al-Jahiz's book Al-Bukhala as an example and analyzed the various rhetorical structures that make up this story, taking into account the characteristics of the Arabic language while deconstructing the rhetorical structures. Nous avons examinée dans le présent document, la théorie de Toulmin qui démontre la structure argumentative du discours, à travers son modèle conçu pour la structure de l’argument, ce modèle qu’on a traduisait conformément les thermes linguistiques arabes. Nous avons pris comme exemple une histoire tirée du livre « Les avares » de Al-Jahiz, dans laquelle nous avons analysé les différentes structures argumentatives qui composent cette histoire, en tenant compte des caractéristiques de la langue arabe lors du déchiffrage de l'ensemble des structures argumentatives.
