Manifestations of women in the poetry of Muhammad Mashat - a descriptive and analytical study

Abstract

This study sought to reveal the representations
of women in the poetry of Muhammad Mashat, interested in
presenting the points of convergence and divergence from
the stereotypical image of women in the Arab heritage while
explaining their multiple forms: a mother, a beloved an
immigrant, and a symbol.
In order to identify these bodies, the study used an
integrative approach based on description, construction,
language, etc., which gives it a broader vision and the ability
to express the goals, objectives, and linguistic and poetic
foundations of poetry.
Through the four collections targeted for the study
“Why?” And "tomorrow you will grow up" and "walking
without a shadow" and "they ... lit poetry." By extrapolating
all the contexts in which women were dealt with, the study
reached a number of results, the most important of which
are: There is no pattern, and he means her the most
explicitly, and if he resorts sometimes to a specific
description of the image of the woman, then it is the
exception, in addition to that he does not resort to quarreling
the heritage, but is influenced by it in making the woman
sometimes an entry point for another purpose of the poem.
The image of women in contemporary poetry, and Saudi
poetry in particular, according to what the study sheds light
on in Mashat's poetry, gains greater momentum than her
image as a beloved or an emigrant.
