Declarative Sentences in the Poems of "Anwar Salman" (syntax and rhetorical analysis)

Abstract

A declarative sentence is a speech that can be
true or false, and its use, in the eyes of writers, has a
rhetorical purpose. From this point of view, this research has
tried to examine declarative sentences of different types in
the poems of "Anwar Salman" through the descriptive-
analytical method to reveal their syntactic and rhetorical
role in the interpretation of the poet's thoughts, feelings, and
goals. In the poems of "Anwar Salman,” declarative
sentences are examined in terms of emphatic sentences and
negative sentences. After examining the declarative
sentences in our poet's poem, it is concluded that "Anwar
Salman" uses an emphatic sentence with its types (verbal
emphasis, spiritual emphasis, and presenting what has the
right to be delayed, and En, Qad, and l at the first) and also
negative sentences that include the negation of b (lam, lais,
and la) to add to the meaning and content of the literary text
for the listener and to emphasize the intensity of feelings
mixed with his love, sadness, and anger towards his
homeland or his feelings about love for a woman.
