The argumentation of metaphor and its impact on the analysis of interpretive discourse

Abstract
This research paper focuses on examining the argumentative value of metaphor within the field of rhetoric, aiming to explore its persuasive function as manifested in the analysis of interpretative discourse by Sheikh Tahar Ben Achour in his work "Al-Tahrir wa Al-Tanwir". The study establishes a comparative approach between the rhetorical heritage represented in "Al-Tahrir wa Al-Tanwir" and contemporary studies on discourse analysis and argumentation rhetoric, particularly the theories of Abdallah Soula as presented in his book "Fi Nadhariyat Al-Hijaj" (On the Theory of Argumentation). Through this approach, we seek to define the argumentative dimensions and functions of metaphor and to present this comparative analysis using illustrative diagrams.
