Abstract
Sufi literature is considered one of the highest and finest types of literary writing in the Arabic language at all. In this literature the Arabic language in its high form, based on a very special lexicon and deep connotations, converges with the very deep spiritual experience that was treated by some of the notables for whom Islamic history was known. In this article, we try to refer to this type of literature by defining, introducing, explaining the form that characterized it, and representing in its finest known form, which is the art of soliloquy, in addition to selecting some testimonies of critics and thinkers, and their opinion on this unique type of literary writing.
